GADZOOKS

The 826 Volunteer faces extinction from the strains of being overworked! Its determination to offer guidance and tutelage to the students of San Francisco, regardless of inclement weather, scarcity of pizza and too much homework, have led to the current dearth of the Volunteer, our most sacred species. All of them, the spotted volunteers and the bald volunteers and the long-legged volunteers, are dangerously few in numbers and need your help! Alas, do not fret. If we work fast, there is still time to save them before they suffer the doom of extinction.

But...How can I save a volunteer?

How exactly does saving a volunteer help the world? Our volunteers keep 826 afloat and help cultivate the writing skills of San Francisco’s brilliant youth. They donate precious hours of their time to tutor kids, lead workshops and lend their brilliant and creative minds to continue the development of 826.

By contributing to 826 Valencia’s mission, you are sparking an interest in the literary arts in young minds across the Bay Area. You will be a hero. The money you donate will benefit thousands of Bay Area students and you will be helping the volunteer species to thrive while fighting off extinction.

Here’s the low down on how to do it:

Our volunteers will tirelessly continue to volunteer (it’s what they do best), and for every hour that they contribute to the future of young San Franciscans, you can sponsor them. You can do this by simply choosing the volunteer you want to sponsor form the photos below, and following the link to their profile.
