Loyal Lucas Peters

Congratulations to Lucas Peters for attaining the status of Spotlighted (Spotlit?) Volunteer! Mr. Peters is notable primarily for his enigmatic profile picture, in which he is seated among the monkeys of "see no, hear no, speak no evil" fame. You can view the picture here: Lucas Peters.

What does it all mean? Is he whistling no evil? Blowing breezes? Or is he, as my fellow intern Anna suggested, absorbing all the evil at once, hearing, speaking, and seeing it in an apocalyptic sensory overload? We may never know, although Anna insists that we will know, that we do know, that we shall ever know; and if everyone would only listen to Anna, there would be world peace.

Oh, yeah. Lucas Peters has also raised a bunch of money for S.A.V.E.! Yeah yeah! Yeah Lucas, yeah yeah! We admire him and his volunteer cohorts for their phenomenal efforts on behalf of Bay Area youth.

Absolutely Amazing Ashbaugh!

In recent weeks, we have heaped praise on the incomparable Renee Ashbaugh, and really, who am I to resist the tides of a trend? I'm only one sentence in and already mixing metaphors; God forbid I stray into malapropisms. Rather than subject you to further illogical ramblings, I'll allow you to see Renee's page for yourself: Renee Ashbaugh.

Our lives could go on without her, but we'd really not prefer it. Please give a deafening cheer for Renee! Keep raising money whenever you can - at parties, at work, during a visit to your mother-in-law's house. There's never an inopportune moment to support the education of Bay Area youth!

Herpetological Volunteers

Good evening, everyone. I hope your fundraising is going well (as well as the rest of your lives)!

This week's superstar volunteer is the astonishingly organized Erin Christy. If you haven't yet observed her in action, get ringside seats as soon as you can. I am telling you, this girl is deft; she can wield a stapler like none other. Give her some hanging file folders and anything you want organized and within minutes she'll have worked her lean, green, cleaning machine magic.

Even better, Erin is "the youngest member ever of the Southern California Herpetology Association," which has nothing at all to do with a sexually transmitted infection and everything to do with reptiles! Please give an amphibious round of applause to the fabulous Ms. Christy!
